Child Abuse and Welfare - Central

The following programs provide information and/or interventions for individuals and/or families who are coping with the trauma arising from child abuse. Child abuse includes abandonment, neglect, or emotional, physical or sexual abuse by a parent or other adult in a position of power. The Children's Aid Society (see below) accepts reports that a child is or may be in need of protection.

See Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault for shelters that accommodate abused women and their children, Adult Survivors of Abuse and Victim Services.
