Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Response - York Region

Services or programs that prevent, mitigate, and respond to violence rooted in gender inequality, the abuse of power, or harmful norms. Gender-based violence can include sexual, physical, mental, and economic abuse inflicted in public or in private. It can also include threats of violence, coercion, and manipulation. Supports may include emergency treatment, follow-up care, and counselling. If you are experiencing an emergency situation call 911.
