Help keep our community warm this winter season

North York General Hospital's volunteers are busy collecting much needed donations for Alex’s Mitten Tree, an annual initiative that helps keep the less fortunate warm over the winter months.

Set up near our General site’s cafeteria, volunteers are accepting hats, tuques, mitts, scarves and gloves for those who need it the most in our community as well as travel sized toiletries. Last year, more than 900 items were donated to several organizations for the less fortunate.

Donations will be accepted across from the pharmacy and near the cafeteria until Friday, December16 from Monday to Friday between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. As the holidays are a busy time of year, and if you are unable to purchase these items, volunteers are also accepting cash donations to purchase items to keep the less fortunate warm. For more information, please contact Volunteer Services at 416-756-6088.
