Province Funding Twelve Local Housing Initiatives

As part of Ontario's three-year, $810 million investment to support the transformation and modernization of developmental services, the province is investing up to $3.47 million over two years in 12 creative community-based housing initiatives for adults with developmental disabilities.
The projects have been selected for funding by the Developmental Services Housing Task Force to help expand the range of housing options for adults with developmental disabilities across the province.
A second call for proposals for additional projects will be issued by the Housing Task Force later this year. The Task Force will consider larger-scale residential options to further increase the range and number of housing options.
Helping people with developmental disabilities live as independently as possible is part of Ontario's plan to give everyone a chance to participate in the province's communities. It is also part of the government's four-part plan to invest in people's talents and skills, make the largest investment in public infrastructure in Ontario's history, create a dynamic, innovative environment where business thrives and build a secure retirement savings plan.
