Project Angel

Project ANGEL
(Automated Notification by GPS Emergency Locator)

Project A.N.G.E.L. is designed to provide assistance to persons at high risk of experiencing violence from an intimate ex-partner. Persons at risk of sexual assault, domestic violence and/or criminal harassment may apply to receive a GPS tracking device that communicates directly with Northern 911 with GPS coordinates and the identity of the victim.

There are three components to the program:

  1. A personal safety plan developed by/for the client with the assistance of the Program Coordinator
  2. Eligible clients are provided with a GPS tracking device.
  3. Ongoing support for the client and updates and reviews to the personal safety plan

This program is offered in partnership with Victim Services of York Region and York Regional Police. Sponsored by York Regional Police, Victim Services of York Region and the Magna Hoedown.
