Service Description: Organization representing the interest of Black residents of York Region
  • advocacy, capacity building, resource development and service delivery
  • cultural and informational workshops for African Canadian adults
Sankofa Programs for Black Children and Youth
Offers an Africentric curriculum focused on activities for Black students to enhance their racial and cultural identity, self-esteem, critical thinking, self-reflection, teamwork, and community engagement
  • Youth Mentoring: for youth in grades 7-12
  • Storytelling Program: for children in grades 4-6
  • Identity Program: for youth in grades in grades 6-8
  • Tutoring Program: for youth in grades 4-12 registered in the program
  • Parents engagement and workshops
