Service Description: Settlement services, language training, skills development and upgrading, employment preparation, sustainability programming
programs for women, youth and seniors

Settlement Services for Newcomers: general orientation, information and referral
  • information sessions and workshops
  • individual assistance including needs assessment, settlement plans, career plans, form-filling
  • mentorship programs
  • Newcomer-focused employment workshops
  • Women Connecting with Women:
    • for any newcomer who is woman-identified
    • mental health and wellness supports, including crisis counselling
    • workshops on mental health and self-esteem, life skills, legal rights, money management, employment skills
    • childcare available for participants, refreshments provided, transit fare to all event attendees
    Language training:
    • Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC)
      • in English 4-5 (intermediate) and 6-7 (High Intermediate/Advanced)
      • Talking Tech
        • 10-week sector-specific language training in data analytics
      Assessment of reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills in English administered by YMCA of Greater Toronto, required for all language training programs -- see separate entry

      Employment Ontario Programs, including programs for youth:
