Service Description:

Assists seniors with hearing loss * services include assessment and support for seniors with hearing loss to develop, maintain, or augment sensory capacity and promote maximum independence- hearing care counsellors work with individuals with hearing loss, their family and caregivers
- services are provided in an accessible and safe environment, including home visits, in office appointments, or virtually
- provide one-on-one hearing screenings
- prepare you to manage difficult listening situations like social gatherings, restaurants, places of worship or recreational programs
- help you remain independent and stay safe at home with recommendations and support with the installation of visual smoke alarms, visual doorbells, assistive listening devices, and phone alert systems
- provides training on the use, care, and maintenance of hearing aids, assistive listening devices, specialized telephones, and alert devices
- referral to other CHS programs and services or agencies that offer alternate services as needed
- hosting presentations, community displays, workshops, classes, and learning groups
Hearing Care Counselling also provides in-service training to supportive housing, retirement homes and long-term care facilities
