It’s Paramedic Services Week which means it’s our turn to recognize the contributions of Paramedic Services staff who work around the clock to keep York Region residents and visitors safe.

York Region’s team of more than 550 paramedics is highly trained to deliver emergency health care 24 hours per day, seven days a week.

But their role is expanding.

Paramedics are providing more preventative health care options and now have a larger role in improving community health.

Paramedic Services Week is an annual celebration by the Paramedic Chiefs of Canada. This year’s theme, Expanding Care, reflects the changing role that paramedics have in the evolution of health care.
