Service Description: Home support, rehabilitative therapies and other specialized services in the home, school, and workplace in order to maximize independence while providing the necessary health and social support to clients and their families * services include personal care (bathing/getting dressed), home support (groceries/meals, laundry, housekeeping), caregiver relief, appointment/medical escort and companionship

Falls Prevention

Paramed services can also be geared toward preventing falls by:
  • utilizing physiotherapy to increase or maintain mobility and strength
  • using occupational therapy to increase understanding of individual fall risk factors and intervention priorities
  • nurses who can help manage medical conditions that can increase risk of fall (such as diabetes and proper foot care)
  • access to Assistive Device Program Authorizors
