Service Description: Team consists of a skilled social worker or a nurse specializing in crisis intervention who works closely with the Emergency Department and the Mental Health Program * provides consultations to ER physician for patients registered in the emergency department and experiencing mental health and/or psychological crises * provides clinical assessment, intervention and referrals to community resources to people experiencing a mental health crisis and/or issues with addictions * doe not provide counselling or give advice over-the-phone

Crisis worker is on site in the ER, Mon-Fri, 9am-11pm, Sat, Sun and statutory holidays, 11am-11pm * Crisis Intervention Team is available to meet with anyone who is registered with the Emergency Department at either the Credit Valley Hospital or Mississauga Hospital * referrals received for patients at the Queensway Health Centre are seen at the Mississauga Hospital site
