Service Description: CARAH house (Courage and Recovery and Hope) is a residential home in Barrie, with 5 short-term beds available to accommodate those who are experiencing a mental health, psychosocial or addiction related crisis

Services available:
  • non-medical services
  • respite
  • medication education
  • crisis prevention
  • safety planning
  • coping strategies
  • referrals to community services as required
  • all other crisis services (telephone, mobiles) are also available 
  • one residential bed reserved for Police use daily 24 hours

Fees: Free
Application: Referral by self, medical agencies or police * phone assessment may be required
Eligibility / Target Population: Youth and Adults experiencing mental health, addiction, or psychosocial crisis * must be medically stable and not intoxicated
